Education software specialist Crick Software has announced the launch of a range of ‘Clicker Apps’ for Chromebook users to complement its internationally acclaimed literacy support tool.
In January 2016, the company launched Clicker 7, the latest version of its popular primary word processor. The Clicker Apps have been designed to further enhance the learning experience by making key Clicker support features accessible for iPad, and now for Chromebook users too.
Crick’s Clicker Sentences app enables teachers to quickly create differentiated sentence building activities on any topic. Pupils can then benefit from a range of literacy support tools to help them put their sentences together independently, including speech feedback and visual models.
The Clicker Docs app provides pupils with a child-friendly talking word processor. As they write, children are supported by realistic speech feedback, an intelligent word predictor and subject-specific word banks, helping them to develop their writing skills and confidence.
Users will also be able to access free, ready-made Sentence Sets and Word Banks created by Crick’s Curriculum team directly from within the apps. Clicker Docs and Clicker Sentences are the first two apps in the Chromebook range, with more apps to be revealed later in the year.
“More and more schools are using a combination of technologies including desktops, laptops, iPads and Chromebooks with their pupils to create incredibly motivating and effective learning environments,” says Crick Software CEO, John Crick. “These new additions to the Clicker product range enable teachers to provide the proven literacy support they have come to know and trust across the school on a variety of devices.”
