Finalists for Bett Awards 2014 announced

The finalists for the 16th annual Bett Awards have been announced today.
Organised and managed by i2i Events Group and the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA), the Bett Awards aim to recognise and celebrate excellence in ICT in education and have come to be considered the most prestigious ICT awards in the UK education sector.
Each year, educational ICT suppliers of all types and sizes enter the Bett Awards and are scrutinised by a panel of judges made up of experienced educational professionals and chaired by BESA. The impartial two stage judges entrants according to key assessment principles, including design, cost-effectiveness, accessibility, enabling effective learning and supporting learning beyond the classroom.
Rachel Poletti-Gadd, Portfolio Director at i2i Events Group comments:
“Each year, the Awards go a small way to providing our industry with the recognition it so richly deserves in developing innovative and practical ICT resources for the advancement of learning.”
She continues:
“The Bett Awards continue to evolve with new categories including ‘International digital education resource,’ ‘Free digital content/open educational resources’ and ‘Educational Apps’,to market the changing face of today’s education sector. Two further awards have been introduced to celebrate the unprecedented quality of organisations’ marketing teams, with the arrival of the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ award and the ‘Bett stand of the Year’ award.”
Caroline Wright, Director of BESA, adds:
“The Bett Awards represent a partnership between i2i Events Group and BESA, the trade association representing educational supply companies. While the unprecedented number of entries has made it tougher for the judges, it does mean that the shortlist identifies the very best resources and suppliers for schools. The shortlisted products and organisations all offer outstanding, quality resources that will undoubtedly inspire and motivate learners.
“Due to the international recognition of Bett in terms of its place in showcasing the latest learning technologies, the Bett Awards provide educators all over the world with a means of identifying the most innovative and effective ICT products and services.”
